Asi Cymbal

Chairman

Asi Cymbal is the Chairman of Cymbal DLT Companies.

Mr. Cymbal has over 30 years of experience in real estate development, construction, finance, and law.

He is driven by his passion for great architecture and design, his focus on transforming communities, and his commitment to creating great wealth for his investors.

He has been fortunate to work with the world’s best architects and designers (Philippe Starck, Bjarke Ingels, Enrique Norten, Jo Palma, Arquitectonica) as a first mover in neighborhoods at a critical time in their transition (the Financial District in Manhattan, Tribeca, SOHO, the Miami Design District, Midtown Miami, Downtown Fort Lauderdale, Dania Beach, Miami Gardens).

Mr. Cymbal is grateful to his investors and proud of the fact that he has rewarded them with unmatched returns.

Mr. Cymbal raised his first fund in 2010.  That $3 million investment is now worth over $180 million.  He is focused on increasing that to $700 million by 2026.

After experimenting with retirement in 2014, he came back to create a second fund during the 2020 Pandemic.  He turned that $15 million investment into $90 million in 20 months.

Mr. Cymbal is currently raising a $100 million evergreen fund to be deployed into the $2 billion Cymbal DLT pipeline.

Mr. Cymbal also has significant food and beverage experience. He has co-created and owned over half a dozen of the hottest restaurants and clubs in Miami, including Sra. Martinez (with celebrity chef and James Beard award-winner, Michelle Bernstein), Bardot, and gigi.

Mr. Cymbal has been named by the South Florida Business Journal as a Heavy Hitter in Construction and Real Estate Development, a Top 100 Power Leader, and as one of 2013’s People to Watch. He has also appeared on the front page of the Wall Street Journal.

Mr. Cymbal is the Vice Chair and board member of Florida International University’s College of Communication, Architecture + The Arts - Miami Beach Urban Studios. He is also a board member of Wynwood Norte, the organization that is spearheading the revitalization of north Wynwood. Mr. Cymbal was a past board member of Business for the Arts of Broward.

Mr. Cymbal is a graduate of Vassar College and the UCLA School of Law. He is an experienced real estate and business attorney licensed to practice law in New York, New Jersey, and Washington D.C., and is a licensed general contractor in Florida.

Hector Torres

CEO

Mr. Torres has over 40 years of expertise in executing complicated construction and development projects.  He has completed over 3.5 million square feet of ground-up, high-rise construction in South Florida. His project list includes residential buildings, hotels, retail, and office buildings.  

His unique experience involving high-rise construction, insurance claim restoration, surety bonding, and representing institutional investors and developers, highlights his ability to mitigate risk.   His completion as general contractor of the 500,000 gsf Oasis Pointe Residences within 14 months of groundbreaking, in the midst of the COVID Pandemic and global supply chain disruptions, further underscores his success at risk mitigation. 

Mr. Torres’ business model provides the execution of ‘best in class' real estate with an emphasis on risk mitigation, building performance innovation, and aligning the interests of project stakeholders.    

Mr. Torres has served as an expert witness, litigation consultant, builder, and developer. He has also lectured at the University of Miami Law School and the Harvard Graduate School of Design.   In 2019, Mr. Torres’s expert testimony played a critical role in obtaining a $3.6 million verdict against a national insurance carrier for a hurricane claim in favor of a Miami condominium association. 

Mr. Torres was born in New York City to Puerto Rican immigrants.   Surrounded by NewYork City’s skyline and diverse architecture, Mr. Torres sought a career in construction. After graduating high school, Mr. Torres began his construction management career in NYC vocational union shops working in various trades.   In 1992, the unions tapped Mr. Torres to go to Miami and to begin the reconstruction work left by the devastation of Hurricane Andrew.   By 1999, Mr. Torres completed hundreds of major restoration projects on behalf of major insurance carriers such as Travelers, Bankers, Metropolitan, and other New York City carriers.   In the decade that followed, Mr. Torres managed the construction of institutional developers and owners in the development and renaissance of Miami’s downtown.    

Mr. Torres is a Harvard Graduate School of Design alumni, having graduated with honors from the Advanced Management Development Program in Real Estate.  Mr.Torres is also a licensed general contractor, real estate appraiser, and is a property and casualty agent in the State of Florida.  Hector also volunteers and is certified as a Guardian Ad Litem appointed by the Supreme Court of Florida.

Jorge was appointed Chief Operating Officer in July 2022. Jorge oversees all aspects of the Cymbal DLT Companies business, and he is a member of the Executive Leadership Team. Jorge brings more than 25 years of leadership experience to Cymbal DLT Companies. His experience includes leading overall efforts across all aspects of real estate development, design and construction for a variety of market sectors, including residential, commercial, retail, institutional, transportation, hospitality, and infrastructure, as well as bringing a vast knowledge of construction operations, corporate strategies, business development, marketing, and communications. Prior to joining Cymbal DLT, Jorge was the Executive Vice President and Regional Director for Plaza Construction, one of the largest construction companies in South Florida and New York, overseeing all aspects of the business in the Southeast Region. He was also part of the Executive Leadership Team leading all national efforts for corporate strategy and business development. His experience also includes working for Skanska USA, one of the largest construction companies with national and global presence, and The Haskell Company, a fully integrated AEC Design Builder with presence across the US, Latin America and Asia.

Born and raised in South Florida, Becky has ties to construction on both her mother’s and father’s sides of the family. Her love of construction drives her and working with her colleagues to get the job done is always her goal. With over 20 years of experience in project accounting in construction, she has now ventured into the developer side of the industry. Her portfolio includes residential buildings, hotels, retail, office buildings, and casinos. Managing the most complex budgets, ranging from $250,000 to upwards of over $250 million she consistently demonstrates that no job is too big or too small for attention to detail. Becky began her career working in construction for a local glazing subcontractor, mentoring under the best while continuing her studies. She graduated from Miami Dade College with her associate degree in Business Administration and then Florida International University (FIU) with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.

Core & Shell Superintendent

Lou Alvarez is a structural superintendent with over 30 years of construction experience. He is currently the lead superintendent in Cymbal DLT’s 341-unit Miami Gardens project. He has held various positions in the construction industry, including project engineer, contracts manager, quality control manager, rebar, concrete and post tension coordinator, concrete superintendent, and lead superintendent. Lou has been involved in many high-rise projects in South Florida, including One Miami, 50 Biscayne, Trump Towers in Sunny Isles, Icon Brickell, Murano Grande, Icon South Beach, Apogy South Beach, and The Ritz Carlton Residences. Lou enjoys the challenges that this profession brings and the sense of accomplishment that he feels once a project is completed. He also enjoys the people that he spends his days with and appreciates that it takes a team of very talented individuals to do what we do.

Brandon is a Developer Associate who graduated from one of the top ten finance schools: ESCP Business School in Madrid, Spain. Brandon's master's degree of science in real estate, allowed him to gain first-hand experience in European International real estate. Prior to joining the Cymbal DLT family, Brandon worked for an institutional investment firm in Manhattan working in acquisitions; underwriting for multi-families. In addition, being fully responsible of all due diligence required from land to final vision of proposed projects. Responsibilities included contacting potential investors and investment funds who were interested in solely building multi-family projects nationwide. Brandon's versatile experience in international real estate along with acquisitions will be a great contribution to the Cymbal DLT family. He is truly a loyal and dedicated member of the team.

Superintendent

Jerry Brewer was born in Puerto Rico with parents from the Dominican Republic. While growing up in the tri-state Connecticut region, he was always attracted to tall buildings and real estate in general. At the age of 21, he acquired his first multifamily building and continued this hobby, purchasing and selling over 10 properties within 10 years. His early work experience was in healthcare and federal law enforcement, was a business partner for real estate, and a public safety dealer for federal and state contracts. Jerry started his construction career at the Portsmouth Naval Base as a purchasing specialist/foreman for UWS LLC. He then began to work with Plaza Construction, first on two projects in Jersey City as a labor foreman, then at the Royal Caribbean headquarters at the Miami Port, and later for the Plaza Homes division as an Assistant Superintendent. Currently, he works as a superintendent focusing on interiors.

Her career in construction began at a shower door company in Coral Spring where she demonstrated her strong work ethic and leadership to grow within the accounting department. Later, Aracelly worked at Plaza Construction for four years and was able to gain great knowledge and experience from her colleagues. She was born and raised in South Florida to her mother who is a business owner and her father who is a Project Executive, which cultivated her love for accounting and construction. Aracelly has a BBA in Accounting and is currently pursuing a dual master’s degree in forensic accounting and data analytics at Florida Atlantic University

He has been involved in the negotiations of sub-contractor agreements and procuring of GMP agreements worth over $500 million throughout his career. Anita has an extensive background of 25+ years in New Development Luxury Hi-Rises in New York City and most recently a new development in Miami, Florida as a New Lease-up Leasing Director for Private Developers and REITs. As a top producer, her ability to conceptualize and manage multiple priorities, set goals and deadlines while developing efficient and motivated employees, has been a key to her successful role as direct liaison to property management and developers. Anita’s experience includes working for top developers as The Moinian Group, VanBarton Group, Equity Residential, Macklowe Properties, and Related Companies. Her ability to understand all facets of real estate development, includes pricing, negotiating, marketing, closing while maintaining resident retention with a high level of customer satisfaction. Her love for New York City and Florida has kept her residing between both states for the past two decades. She is excited to work permanently and make Florida her primary residence!

Loran has worked in construction for over 18 years, from managing large construction projects to coordinating the purchasing of construction materials and services. He understands what it takes to oversee the day-to-day activities of subcontractors and vendors to ensure successful project completion. A hands-on, problem-solving individual, he is highly respected within the construction community and has strong relationships with local building departments, city and county officials, inspectors, and public works officials. As MEP project manager, Loran is the liaison for the project team of architect, engineer, and subcontractors. He oversees all aspects of the mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire alarm systems. During preconstruction, Loran consults on systems selection, analyzing life-cycle costs and working in a design-assist role with the mechanical subcontractor. During construction, he monitors field installation to ensure systems function as planned. Loran earned a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management from Florida International University and holds a Florida General Contractor License.

Tom brings in more than 20 years of construction management experience. Throughout the course of his career, he has completed diverse projects in various locations. These projects have taken Tom from the I-270 corridor in Maryland through the environmentally sensitive Florida Everglades and cities throughout South Florida. As the Cymbal DLT Project Executive, Tom brings a team-first mindset. He believes in developing camaraderie between all parties on any given project. Building long-lasting relationships with trade partners and team members is part of his core belief in successfully completing the task at hand. Using this he leads the project teams to deliver on time, on budget, and with quality results.

He has completed 3.1 million square feet of ground-up construction in South Florida and was part of the team for preconstruction and contract award for 3.8 million square feet of retail, mixed-use, hospitality, and multifamily projects. Eduardo is involved from inception on most of the projects he has completed. He actively manages all phases of preconstruction, construction, and project closeout. He prepares cost estimates and project schedules and coordinates subcontractor activities and field logistics plans. Eduardo also manages the subcontractors’ contracts process and final negotiations and is actively engaged on project safety and work quality. This experience, along with well-established subcontractor relationships make Eduardo a valued team member.

Diego has over 11 years of expertise in construction across multiple project types, including high-rise, mid-rise, hospitality, and insurance claim restoration projects in South Florida. As a project manager, he has a broad range of responsibilities and is involved in all phases of construction. He is responsible for the day-to-day coordination of all trade activities, including material delivery, safety, schedule adherence, quality control, and assurance. He directs construction-related personnel in the planning, coordination, and execution of work on time within budget, while attaining or exceeding goals.

Alberto is a Civil Engineer from Nicaragua, Central America, where he worked as a General Contractor for more than 25 years. He obtained a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Rutgers University and gained an MBA from Universidad de Nebrija. Alberto started his professional experience working for ESSO Standard Oil in the area of safety and environment protection. In 1996 he became a contractor for civil works and residential construction. As a GC, he has more than 20 years of experience building 12,000+ sq. ft. high-end homes and beach resorts in his native country, Nicaragua; where he was well known because of his pursuit of quality and an acute sight for details on projects he participated. He is passionate about sharing and transmitting his knowledge and experience with the people he works with. He has been involved in projects in different stages, from preconceptions and design, budgeting, construction and delivery of the project. He served as Vice President of the Nicaraguan Chamber of Construction from 2018 to 2021 where he had been a member since the year 2014. He joined Cymbal DLT’s team as a Superintendent at the end of this 2022.

Arielle began her career in the real estate industry from a subcontractor perspective. She worked for a crane and rigging company before switching to the ownership perspective with Cymbal DLT. Because the crane company was a subcontractor for one of Cymbal DLT’s first projects, Arielle was able to watch Oasis Pointe Residences progress from its foundational stages to its final stages with both perspectives. She is an administrative assistant for Cymbal DLT. Although she works directly under the Vice President of Development and Construction, she contributes administratively to the company as a whole. Arielle facilitates effective communication between the construction field and main offices and provides overall administrative support and document control for all team members. Arielle is a people person whose personable nature, along with her ability to communicate effectively and efficiently, make her especially adept at maintaining communication among team members, both internally and externally.

Safety Manager + Superintendent

Danny's career in safety consulting and implementation spans more than a decade and includes strategic roles with many leading Southeastern general contractors and specialty contractors and oil and gas in the Texas areas. He started his safety career in 2000 with a safety consulting firm in Florida conducting OSHA-required training and field safety inspections within the construction industry. He subsequently worked with Hensel Phelps Construction Company on a $310 million project at Miami International Airport as a safety engineer. His career continued at Pavarini Construction as a safety engineer and at Catalfumo Construction as a safety officer. Danny has also served as a Corporate Safety Director Assistant with Carl Woodward, LLC in New Orleans, LA, overseeing contractor compliance with JACOBS at the 141st Jackson Barracks and the US Customs House. He continued in the oil and gas industry in the Houston, TX area, serving as a safety consultant for numerous clients and industries.

During the course of all projects, he monitors and enhances government relations with all regulators and public officials to ensure the project has a positive impact towards the communities' goals. Prior to joining Cymbal DLT, David was with a boutique real estate investment bank where he specialized in complex construction financing and ground lease structuring. He began his real estate career with Royal Palm Companies, a Miami-based real estate developer, as a project manager for projects in Puerto Rico and the Miami World Center. David holds an MBA from the University of Miami with an emphasis in real estate finance and investments. He graduated from the University of Florida with a bachelor's degree in finance.

She prides herself on honoring relationships and ensuring the maintenance of high standards and quality while having fun in doing what she loves.

Ron has worked in construction in South Florida since 1995. He began building single family homes, then moved into commercial construction. Commercial construction was a natural transition for him and his career path. Ron loves challenges, and fits right into this field as a commercial superintendent. Born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA, Ron learned a lot from his two grandfathers from a very young age. One was a master plumber, and the other was a custom furniture maker and master carpenter. He also learned a lot from his father while rebuilding the 120-year-old house where he grew up. Since launching his professional construction career when he moved to South Florida in 1995, Ron has worked hands-on in just about every trade. He is extremely mechanically inclined, which helps with his hobbies, which include restoring old cars, motorcycles, and anything with an engine or wheels.
